1. What is an inverter?
The inverter is to convert 12V low-voltage DC power of the RV into 220V AC power to provide stable AC power for all electrical appliances in the RV.
2. Is it necessary for RV inverter?
In fact, it depends on our power demand. The 12V battery of RV can only make small power appliances work normally, such as 12V refrigerator, LED lamp, ventilator, etc. If you want to cook, you need an inverter when using high-power electric appliances such as electric rice cooker, microwave oven, electric kettle, induction cooker, etc.
3. How to choose the inverter?
Most of the common inverters are 2000W, 3000W, etc. the selection depends on the power of the actual load in the vehicle. Taking 3000W as an example, the total rated power of the electrical appliances used in the RV at the same time generally does not exceed 2800W. Because the inverter cannot operate at full load for a long time, it is better to use it under the condition of not exceeding 80% of the rated power.
4. Some people often say that the inverter itself consumes electricity.
Why do you say so?
When the inverter is in use, the output power is less than the input power, and this involves its own output power, that is, the efficiency of the inverter. The unit of efficiency is percentage (%). For example, the maximum efficiency of our inverter can reach 92%, which means that we can convert 1000W battery DC power into 920w AC power, of which 80W is lost. Therefore, the higher the efficiency, the higher the utilization rate of battery energy. For the same battery and load, some inverters can work for 3 hours, while others can work for 4 hours, which is caused by different efficiency. An intuitive way to judge the efficiency is to look at the size of the inverter. The lower the efficiency, the greater the heat generation. In order to dissipate heat, the inverter must be larger. However, the space on the RV is extremely limited. Therefore, RV supplies are generally small and multi-functional.
